Many brides have dreamed of their special day since childhood. Those women who have been down the aisle know one thing to be true: wedding days go by very quickly. So much time is spent planning a dream wedding, and it will be gone quickly, along with many details the couple never had the time to notice.

Wedding Story Writer brings a sublime new concept to the entire wedding industry. Founded in the United States in 2011 by Michelle McMurray, Wedding Story Writer is hired to attend a wedding and while there write the wedding story as it is occurring. McMurray travels internationally to attend weddings and other special occasion events, and also employs writers in other countries, including The Netherlands, England, and Spain to do the same. They attend the event from the beginning of the day until the end, while inconspicuously recording all that happens as the day progresses–from the bridal dress preparations and walking down the aisle to the couple’s final moments dancing at their reception. Her clients’ final result is a refined hand-bound fairytale wedding story book. Like Her Majesty the Queen, Wedding Story Writer appoints the creation of these fairytale books to the most elite artisans in the world.

The Wedding Story Writer brand books are extraordinary—highly customized quality hand crafted books for brides and grooms with discerning tastes. Each book is awe-inspiring, complete with elegant calligraphy, stunning custom artwork, poetry, and much more. The Wedding Story Writer Signature Collection is complete with a sophisticated gemstone encrusted logo.

McMurray, says she is enamoured by the entire content creation and book binding process. She has the highest respect for her artisans, and states, “Without the collaboration of so many enthusiastic and talented artisans, Wedding Story Writer would not be as luxuriously textured as it is today. I graciously and appreciatively bow to them.”

McMurray exudes passion when speaking about her company. When asked about what inspires her most, McMurray quickly responded, “My love of genealogy and the preservation of family memories. I created this company because family and heritage is incredibly important in all cultures. I would have loved to have been given a book containing my parents and grandparents wedding stories, and so many other people feel the same way.” Using that mindset, McMurray and her artisans have created a new concept in wedding memories. Wedding Story Writer books are truly the ultimate wedding memento to be treasured for generations.

Music and entertainment truly make any event special. Depending on the type of event, how long the event is and what type of atmosphere you are trying to establish, there is music that can fit into any price range. Especially with the subtle costs of a wedding such as the wedding favours and wedding table decorations and then of course the not so subtle costs such as attire and the renting of a venue, there are ways to make music and entertainment affordable and be able to fit in your budget with all the other costs. Regardless of your event, here are a few important pieces of information in order to make music fit into your event budget.

  • Decide on which part of your event you would like the focus to be on the music. If you are strictly having a cocktail party, there would not be an elaborate reception as with a wedding. So, in this instance it would be worth while to have music while people eat and drink. Perhaps a small string quartet or even a hire a pianist for an elegant touch. For an event such as a cocktail party, look into hiring a student musician attending a local college or university to lower music costs further.
  • If you are having a wedding, use the above tip on hiring local student musicians for the ceremony and cocktail hours and then you’ll have enough in your budget to put towards the main event, the reception. If you are getting married in a church, look into the option of hiring church musicians. Usually within the church, there is an organist and or a piano player and perhaps even a few musicians that play strings and play at a much lower cost than other musicians. For the reception, sometimes the cost of hiring a DJ can be quite less than hiring a full swing band or any other type of live band. However, if you are not budgeting for ceremony or cocktail hour music, you then would have more money to put towards the music for the wedding reception.
  • Have a shorter event. If the time of the event is shortened then so would the need be for music as well, in turn reducing the cost of music.
  • Use your venue sound system for ceremony or cocktail hour music. Most sites have speakers and a sound system, where you may be able to use it and have an instrumental CD playing in the background.
  • Think outside the box! Again, depending on the type of event, perhaps starting a New Year’s Eve party or even a boisterous St. Patrick’s Day party with karaoke for your guests to try! It adds such a fun element to any party and the equipment can be easily rented. You could do this for an hour or so, then have a band or DJ come in.

SIAE TAX: in Italy consider there is a compulsory tax called SIAE which is to be paid if music is played during any event, even a private one. Inquire our wedding planner on its costs and how to.
