Everyone enjoys spoiling the bride, especially when it is time for her bridal shower! The many memorable gifts, special family gifts that have been passed down through the generations and of course those gifts that will be used throughout the marriage are all presented to the bride on the day of her shower. Family, her bridal party and close friends will literally shower her with gifts on this day. Instead of giving the gift of towels or even sheets, here are some wonderful bridal shower gift ideas that will have the bride saying thank you, thank you, thank you!
Create the Bride a Cookbook
As the bridal party sends out the invitation for the bridal shower, include a small note asking guests to jot down their favourite recipe or even a special recipe that has been in the family for many years. Supply guests with a returned envelope to submit the recipe back to the bridal party or even have the guests submit their recipes via email. Once all the recipes are received, compile them and make the bride a customized recipe book. Similar to designing a photobook, there are companies that can compile text for you and then turn it into a beautiful customized recipe book. The best part about this idea, is that all the credit goes to each and every guest that participated in making this unique and treasured bridal shower gift.
Hang an Elegant and Classy Lingerie Line
When asking guests to attend the bride’s bridal shower, make a note to guests that you will be having a lingerie line hanging at the shower and that all guests can add something to the line. Be it a garter belt, lacy panties or even a silk sleeping shirt, the bride will appreciate the beautiful lingerie, and so will her husband-to-be. Don’t forget to let guests hang their own piece of lingerie for the bride using good old fashioned clothes pins!
Basket of Necessities
For those more practical brides, perhaps a basket of necessities would be more her style. Again, when sending out the bridal shower invitations, ask guests to bring along their favourite household necessity. Be it a beautifully scented candle, a bottle of Pinot Noir or even an apron, have guests place their favourite household necessity into flat laundry baskets as they enter the party. The baskets can be pre-decorated with ribbons and bows to add a bridal shower feel to them.
Kitchen Gadget Drawer
Where is the cheese knife when you really need it? Okay, we may not really use our cheese knife that frequently, but that is a kitchen tool that is still quite necessary to have. Have guests that are attending the bridal shower add to the kitchen gadget drawer. Pick up a used drawer at a local consignment shop and have guests drop off their corkscrew, shrimp deveiner, or even corn on the cob holders right into the drawer as they arrive to the party shower.
