One destination that seems to be quite popular and a favorite among many couples is the country of Italy. Not only is the entire country associated with love, romance, and beauty, but Italy offers much more to couples seeking to have a destination wedding. Italy’s geographical features and rich history offers couples a multitude of locations throughout the country that would be simply perfect for any wedding venue. Here are a few fabulous ideas as to where to hold a destination wedding in Italy.
- Countryside – There are so many beautiful countryside areas throughout the country of Italy! Why not choose to marry at a local vineyard? Not only would it make for stunning wedding pictures, but your guests will feel as though the wedding is a unique experience. The authentic and natural setting at a vineyard would be a beautiful backdrop and compliment wedding nuptials gorgeously.
- Along the Coast – Since Italy is a peninsula, there many stunning coastlines that would make for an ideal location for a wedding. Have the nuptials over looking the sea at sunset, or even have the actual wedding on the beach, the possibilities are endless. Positano, located along the Amalfi Coast, would make for a romantic coastal setting for a wedding.
- Mountainside – Mountains run throughout Italy, so even if holding a wedding in the Italy’s lovely countryside or along its striking coastline is not ideal, perhaps a mountain location would be ideal. There are many lakes surrounded by these breathtaking and gorgeous mountains. Lake Como, is quite a popular and romantic area that is frequented quite often by honeymooners. The Alps are visible from this area and this area offers beautiful views of the many resorts and villages in the area. Not only would the landscape make for a beautiful setting, but a memorable one as well.
- Cities – Many cities throughout Italy truly ooze romance. Why not celebrate your wedding in St. Mark’s Square (Piazza San Marco) in breathtaking Venice? After your nuptials, take a gondola ride throughout the many waterways throughout Venice and be serenaded along the way. Or perhaps, the passionate city of Verona would simply be perfect. Verona is home to the infamous house and balcony of Romeo and Juilet and the feeling of romance is overflowing. The city itself is gorgeous and offers many unique and romantic venues to hold a wedding.
Italy is not only a beautiful country, but a romantic one as well. It is quite easy to see why Italy is quickly becoming one of the top ten wedding destinations in the world.
