My husband and I are from Canada, and we decided to get married in Italy in May 2025. Our preference was to getting married legally in Italy (rather than having a symbolic ceremony) and we knew the civil process was lengthy and tedious.

The day of our wedding, we met with Alessia, our officiant! She led us through the legal wedding ceremony, organized a meeting with our town hall, and led an absolutely beautiful ceremony. Everything was absolutely perfect and we were so grateful for her support and putting us at ease – especially in working with the town hall to delay our ceremony when we were running late!

After the wedding, we had clear instructions on marriage certificates that would be mailed to us in Canada, and steps we needed to take. The certificates arrived to us on a very timely basis. Months later, I experienced an issue changing my last name, and Francesca/Alessia were kind enough to send me an updated document.
