Elopements and micro weddings

Elopement in Tuscany

Just the two of you, or a handful of the people you love most: an intimate wedding in Tuscany, planned down to the last detail.

Why elope in Tuscany

A wedding that is only about you.

Many couples assume a wedding planner only works on big weddings. We love elopements just as much. A ceremony among the cypresses, a walk through a medieval village, dinner for two or for ten overlooking the hills: when the guest list is short, every choice becomes more personal.

We take care of the place, the ceremony, the photographer, the flowers and the dinner, so that the day feels effortless and completely yours.

What we organise

Small wedding, no detail left out.

The place

A hilltop, a vineyard, a roofless abbey or the terrace of a villa: we find the setting that suits you and arrange the permissions.

The ceremony

Symbolic and personal with a celebrant from Italian Wedding Celebrants, or legally binding at a town hall, with the paperwork handled for you.

The details

Photographer, bouquet, hair and make-up, music, a table for dinner and transport: chosen with you from suppliers we trust.

Symbolic or legal?

Two ways
to elope in Italy.

A symbolic ceremony can take place almost anywhere and needs no paperwork in Italy: many couples sign the legal part at home and celebrate here. It gives you complete freedom over the place, the words and the language.

A legally binding elopement is celebrated at a town hall or an approved venue. It requires documents that depend on your nationality and usually some days in Italy before the wedding. Our wedding paperwork guides explain the steps, and we take care of them for you.

Legally binding elopements

What we take care of
for you.

  • Checking your documents and explaining the requirements for your nationality
  • Choosing and booking the town hall, and the meetings with the registrar
  • Consulate appointments, or delivering the Nulla Osta on your behalf where possible
  • Apostilles and legalisations when needed
  • A sworn interpreter for the declaration and the ceremony, required by law if you or your witnesses don't speak Italian
  • Two witnesses, if you need them
  • Your marriage certificate in the right format to register the wedding at home
  • A coordinator by your side at the appointments and on the wedding day

Where to say "I do"

Town halls
with a story.

A civil elopement can take place somewhere truly special: the Palazzo Pubblico in Siena, the medieval town hall of San Gimignano among its towers, Volterra, Certaldo, Palazzo Gambacorti in Pisa or the castle of Lari. Frescoed rooms, stone courtyards and centuries of history, for a ceremony that is never rushed.

And just across the border, Umbria offers the same beauty at a slower pace: hilltop towns, castles and quiet countryside, for a symbolic or a legal elopement.

Micro weddings

A few guests, the same care.

Bringing your parents, your best friends or a few people you can't imagine the day without? We plan micro weddings of up to 10-12 guests all over Tuscany and Italy, very often in Florence and Rome, with a ceremony, a dinner and all the details that make it yours.

For weddings of this size we don't manage accommodation for the guests: book the villa, farmhouse or hotel you love, and we bring the wedding to you.

Looking for an elopement package in Italy? We build yours around you: no fixed packages, every elopement is quoted individually, with only the services you really need.
Planning your elopement between November and March? Ask us about our off-season conditions (Christmas holidays excluded).

Questions, answered

Frequently asked
questions.

Can we elope in Tuscany with no guests at all?

Yes. Many of our elopements are just the two of you, with a celebrant and a photographer. For a legally binding wedding you will need two witnesses, and we can help with that too.

Is an elopement in Italy legally valid?

It can be. A civil ceremony at a town hall or an approved venue is legally binding, once the documents for your nationality are ready. A symbolic ceremony is not, but you can sign the legal part at home.

Where can we elope in Tuscany?

In Chianti, the Val d'Orcia, among medieval towns such as Siena, San Gimignano or Volterra, at the roofless abbey of San Galgano, in Florence or on the coast. We also plan elopements and micro weddings in Umbria, in Rome and across Italy. We suggest places based on what you love.

How far in advance should we plan an elopement?

A symbolic elopement can be organised in a few months. For a legally binding one, start as early as possible, because some appointments for the documents must be booked months ahead.

How many guests can a micro wedding have?

Up to 10-12 guests. For weddings of this size we don't manage accommodation: you book the villa or hotel you love, and we come to you to plan and run the celebration there.

Do you offer off-season conditions?

Yes. For elopements and weddings between November and March, Christmas holidays excluded, ask us about our off-season conditions.

How much does an elopement in Tuscany cost?

It depends on what you need: a symbolic or a legal ceremony, the place, the photographer, dinner and the documents for your nationality. We don't sell fixed packages: every elopement is quoted individually, with only the services you really need. Tell us about your plans and we'll send you a proposal.
