Wedding in Rome

Getting Married in Rome

A civil wedding at the Campidoglio, a ceremony in a historic palazzo or garden, a micro wedding with dinner in the old town: our team in Rome takes care of the paperwork, the planning and the day itself.

In short

How to get married
in Rome.

  • At the Campidoglio: the town hall of Rome, on the square designed by Michelangelo, or another of the historic rooms the city opens for weddings. We book it for you.
  • A micro wedding or an elopement: Rome is one of the cities where we plan them most often. Elopements and micro weddings.
  • A symbolic ceremony: in a palazzo, a garden or a villa just outside the city, led by Italian Wedding Celebrants in your languages.
  • A Catholic ceremony: with your civil wedding done at home first, we look for the church. Catholic weddings.
  • Your documents: many embassies and consulates are in Rome, so part of the paperwork happens here anyway. We handle it.

Our team in Rome

A team that lives
in Rome.

We have a real team in Rome, people who live and work in the city. Francina coordinates our weddings in Rome and in central and southern Italy, in Italian, English, French and Spanish. Alessia lives in Rome too: she plans weddings with us and is also one of our celebrants, leading ceremonies in English and Italian.

They know the town hall staff, the suppliers and the traffic of the city by heart, so you can enjoy Rome while they take care of everything else.

Rome town hall

A legal wedding
at the Campidoglio.

Civil weddings in Rome take place at the Campidoglio, the town hall on the Capitoline Hill, reached by the wide steps of the Cordonata and opening onto the square Michelangelo designed, or in the other historic rooms the city makes available. We book the date, prepare the documents for your nationality, bring the interpreter and, if you need them, the witnesses.

Paperwork in Rome

Your embassy
is probably already here.

For many couples the paperwork starts in Rome anyway. The Canadian and Australian embassies, the Brazilian consulate for central Italy and the British Embassy for UK citizens who live abroad are all here, and so are the offices many Americans deal with. Getting married in Rome means fewer trips: we book every appointment and come with you.

See the guides for Americans, Canadians, Australians, British citizens and Brazilians.

How we help

What we do
in Rome.

  • We book the Campidoglio, or another historic room, on the date you want
  • We arrange your embassy or consulate appointments in the city
  • We find the place for dinner, from a palazzo to a garden on the edge of town
  • We take you to the most beautiful corners of Rome for the photos
  • We organise cars and minibuses, because the traffic in Rome is no joke
  • We choose with you the celebrant, the photographer, the florist and the musicians

A full wedding or a few guests and a dinner: see how we work.

Good to know

Airports, traffic
and the old town.

Rome has two airports, Fiumicino and Ciampino, both well connected to the city. Once you are here, the old town is closed to most cars and the traffic around it is famously slow, so plan your day around short distances.

Taxis exist in Rome, but at busy times you can wait a long while, and they can't always be booked in advance. In Italy the Uber app mostly offers private drivers (NCC), which cost far more than a taxi.

Our advice: stay in the old town near the ceremony and the dinner, and let us book cars or a minibus for the moments when everyone has to move together.
