Couple after their civil wedding at the town hall of Siena

Wedding in Siena

Getting Married in Siena

A civil wedding on Piazza del Campo, in one of the most flexible town halls in Tuscany, a ceremony under the sky at the roofless abbey of San Galgano, a villa in the Sienese hills: we look after every step, from the documents to the last dance.

In short

How to get married
in Siena.

  • In the city: a legal wedding in the Palazzo Pubblico on Piazza del Campo, one of the most beautiful and flexible town halls in Tuscany for days and times. We book it for you.
  • In a village: the medieval town hall of San Gimignano, or Chiusdino, home of the roofless abbey of San Galgano, one of the places couples ask us for most.
  • In the countryside: a symbolic ceremony in a villa, a castle or a farmhouse, in your languages.
  • In church: around Siena churches welcome couples from abroad more readily than elsewhere. We still suggest your civil wedding at home first: Catholic weddings.
  • Your documents depend on your nationality: we prepare them and take you to the registrar.

Siena town hall

Piazza del Campo,
on the day you choose.

The town hall of Siena is in the Palazzo Pubblico, the Gothic palace that closes Piazza del Campo, and it is one of the most beautiful in Tuscany. Above all, it is one of the most flexible town halls in Tuscany for days and times: where other cities give couples from abroad a few weekday mornings, Siena lets you choose. It makes Siena one of the best places in Tuscany for a legal wedding in the city: we book it, prepare your documents and come with you to the declaration and the ceremony.

Prefer a village? San Gimignano marries couples in its medieval town hall among the towers, and Chiusdino is the home of the roofless abbey of San Galgano, one of the places couples ask us for most. Around Siena there are many more, in Chianti and the Val d'Orcia: we choose with you the one that fits your date and your venue, and take care of the rest.

Villas, castles
and farmhouses.

Siena sits in the middle of Tuscany, between Chianti and the Val d'Orcia, surrounded by castles, villas and old hamlets restored with care, many of them with rooms for your guests. Whatever your style and your number of guests, there is a place for you: tell us what you love and we suggest where.

Around Siena it is also easier than in many other areas of Tuscany to find a church that welcomes couples from abroad, for example in a village near Monteriggioni. Catholic weddings in Italy.

Chiusdino

San Galgano,
married under the sky.

South-west of Siena, near Chiusdino, the Cistercian abbey of San Galgano has lost its roof and kept its walls, so you marry under the sky. It is one of the places couples ask us for most, and one they never forget, for an elopement or a small wedding. See an intimate wedding at San Galgano.

How we help

What we do,
so you don't have to.

  • We book the Palazzo Pubblico, or the village town hall closest to your venue
  • We choose with you a date away from the Palio, if you marry in the city
  • We come with you to the declaration at the town hall, with the interpreter and, if needed, two witnesses
  • We find the villa, the castle or the farmhouse in the Sienese hills
  • We bring in the celebrant, the photographer, the flowers and the music
  • We stay at your side from the first appointment to the last dance

We can plan everything, coordinate only the day, or take care of the paperwork alone: how we work.

Good to know

Getting to Siena
and around it.

Florence airport is the closest to Siena, and Pisa is a little further. In the city everything is on foot: the historic centre is closed to cars and the streets are steep, so if you marry in town, book your guests' rooms inside the walls.

In the countryside it is another story. Outside the cities there are practically no taxis, and even in Siena you may wait a long time for one. The rides you find on the Uber app in Italy are private drivers (NCC), not real Uber, and they are very expensive, like minibuses booked trip by trip.

Mind the Palio: on 2 July and 16 August, and in the days before, Siena is full. For a wedding in the city, pick another date.

The simplest solution is a place where your guests sleep, eat and celebrate together, or rental cars. We plan it with you from the start.

In the Palazzo Pubblico, on Piazza del Campo. It is one of the most beautiful town halls in Tuscany and, above all, one of the most flexible for days and times.
