Wedding in Lucca

Villas, gardens
and a walled town.

Lucca is one of the best-kept secrets of Tuscany. Its old town lies inside walls so wide you can stroll along the top among the trees, with the oval Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, towers and Romanesque churches at every corner, and no crowds in a hurry.

On the hills around it stand the historic villas of the Lucca nobility: Italian gardens, lemon houses, long avenues and loggias facing the plain. They are among the most elegant places in Italy for a wedding, and many of them host the ceremony, the dinner and the party in one place. We know them well, and we organise your wedding there from start to finish.

Lucca or Pisa?

Two cities,
half an hour apart.

Many couples start by looking for a wedding in Pisa, because that is where their flight lands. Pisa has its famous square and tower and a lively centre on the Arno. But the most beautiful places to celebrate are often around Lucca, and most guests end up loving both cities.

In practice you don't have to choose: land in Pisa, marry and celebrate around Lucca or in the Pisan hills, and let your guests discover both. We plan it all as one trip.

Wedding in Volterra

Getting married
in Volterra.

High on a hill between Pisa and Siena, Volterra is one of the most striking towns in Tuscany: ancient walls, medieval towers and a main square that seems untouched by time. Couples marry in the Palazzo dei Priori, among the oldest town halls in Tuscany, in a frescoed hall that takes everyone's breath away.

It is one of the town halls we love most and know best. We book your date, prepare the documents and walk you through the square on the day, under the frescoes of the council hall.

Palaces and castles
with a story.

Besides Volterra, this area has other town halls full of character: Palazzo Gambacorti on the Arno in Pisa, the castle of Lari in the hills, Palaia and San Miniato. We pick with you the one that suits your date and your venue, book it and come with you, interpreter included, from the declaration to the "I do".

Wedding venues near Lucca and Pisa

Where to celebrate,
from Lucca to the Pisan hills.

Around Lucca the classic choice is a historic villa with its garden; in the Pisan hills, a restored hamlet or a farmhouse among olive trees, often with rooms for everyone. A legally binding ceremony right at your venue is often possible too: tell us where you would like to marry and we find the way.

How we help

What we do
between Lucca and Pisa.

  • We match your guest list and style with the right villa, hamlet or farmhouse
  • We reserve your town hall, from Pisa to Volterra, and handle the declaration
  • We arrange the interpreter and, when you need them, two witnesses
  • We plan airport pick-ups and transfers from Pisa
  • We put together the celebrant, the photographer, the flowers and the music
  • We are there on the day, so you can simply enjoy it

Want us to do everything, or just part of it? Planning and coordination.

Good to know

Easy to reach,
harder to get around.

This is the easiest corner of Tuscany to fly into: Pisa airport is close to both cities, and regional trains link Pisa and Lucca in about half an hour. Inside the walls of Lucca and in the centre of Pisa you walk; the old towns are closed to most traffic.

Out in the hills, things change. There are hardly any taxis outside the cities, and those in town can keep you waiting. In Italy the Uber app only offers private drivers (NCC), and their fares are high, like a minibus booked for every single trip.

Our suggestion: a villa or hamlet where your guests can stay, or rental cars picked up at Pisa airport. We organise the transfers for the wedding day.
