Wedding in Umbria

Wedding in Umbria

Hilltop towns, castles, olive groves and quiet countryside, just across the border from Tuscany: Umbria is a wonderful place to marry, still waiting to be discovered. We plan your wedding here, wherever you fall in love.

In short

in Umbria.

  • Anywhere in the region: Perugia, Assisi, Spello, Todi, Orvieto, Gubbio or a village you discover yourselves. We follow you there.
  • Legally binding: in the town hall of the place you choose, with the documents for your nationality handled by us. The paperwork.
  • Symbolic: in a castle, a medieval hamlet or among the olive trees, with Italian Wedding Celebrants.
  • Religious: after your civil wedding at home, we look for the church with you. Catholic weddings.
  • For two or for many: from an elopement to a full weekend with your guests.

Why Umbria

The green heart
of Italy.

Umbria is the only region of central Italy without a coastline, and perhaps that is why it has kept its calm. Hills covered in olive groves and vineyards, medieval towns perched on the ridges, castles, abbeys and Lake Trasimeno on the border with Tuscany: the same beauty that couples look for in Tuscany, with fewer crowds and a slower rhythm.

It is a region we love exploring with our couples. Tell us what you are dreaming of, and we find the right corner of it for you.

Where to get married in Umbria

Castles, hamlets
and wine estates.

Couples marry in restored castles, in medieval hamlets turned into small hotels, in villas with gardens and at wine estates around Montefalco, home of Sagrantino. Many places host the ceremony, the dinner and your guests for the whole weekend, which in Umbria makes everything simpler. We find the place, check whether a legal ceremony can take place there, and organise everything on site.

How we help

What we do
in Umbria.

  • We arrange your civil wedding at the nearest town hall, interpreter included
  • We design the ceremony with you, symbolic or legal
  • We bring together photographer, florist, musicians and caterer
  • We plan transfers from Rome or Florence and between the villages
  • We are there on the day, from the first guest to the last toast

From the whole wedding to a single day of coordination: our services.

Good to know

Getting to Umbria
and around it.

Perugia has a small airport, but most guests fly into Rome or Florence and drive from there, about two hours on the road. Trains reach the main towns, while castles and hamlets in the countryside can only be reached by car.

Outside the towns there are no taxis to call. In Italy, what looks like Uber in the app is a private driver service (NCC), and it is expensive, especially for a group.

The easiest way: a castle or hamlet where everyone stays together, rental cars for exploring, and a shuttle we book for the wedding day.

Questions, answered

A wedding in Umbria:
your questions.

Can foreigners get legally married in Umbria?

Yes, at the town hall of the place you choose, once the documents for your nationality are ready. We prepare them and come with you to the appointments.

Where can we get married in Umbria?

Almost anywhere: in Perugia, Assisi, Todi, Orvieto or Gubbio, around Lake Trasimeno, or in a castle or hamlet in the countryside. Tell us what you like and we suggest the place.

Umbria or Tuscany?

They are neighbours and share the same kind of beauty. Umbria is quieter and less crowded; Tuscany has more choice of venues and is easier to reach. We plan in both, and we can help you decide.

How do our guests get to Umbria?

Most fly into Rome or Florence and drive about two hours; Perugia also has a small airport. We organise transfers for the wedding day.

Can we elope in Umbria?

Yes. Umbria is perfect for an elopement or a micro wedding: a hilltop town, a ceremony for two and dinner among the olive groves. See elopements and micro weddings.

How much does a wedding in Umbria cost?

It depends on the place, the number of guests and how many days you celebrate. We write a proposal for your wedding, with no fixed packages: share your ideas.
