Wedding in Tuscany

Wedding in Tuscany

Villas, castles, wine estates and historic town halls: we know the wedding venues of Florence and its hills, Chianti, Siena, the Val d'Orcia, Lucca, Pisa and Volterra. Tuscany is our home. Choose where you dream of marrying, and we plan the rest.

In short

Planning a wedding
in Tuscany.

  • Pick the area first: a city, the vineyards, the hills of the south or a medieval town. The area decides the venue, the town hall and how your guests move.
  • Then the ceremony: legally binding at a town hall, symbolic wherever you like, or Catholic after your civil wedding at home.
  • Start the documents early: what you need depends on your nationality, and some appointments must be booked months ahead.
  • Leave the rest to us: venue, suppliers, transport and the day itself.

The ceremony

Civil, symbolic
or Catholic.

A civil wedding is legally binding and takes place at a town hall, or at a venue the town has authorised: the documents depend on your nationality, and we handle them. A symbolic ceremony has no paperwork in Italy and can happen almost anywhere, led by Italian Wedding Celebrants. A Catholic wedding is possible in many places, and we always suggest doing the civil part at home first: here is why.

How we plan

Your wedding in Tuscany,
in four steps.

  1. 1. Your ideaYou tell us the date, the area and how many you will be. We reply with ideas and a proposal.
  2. 2. The placeWe find the venue and the town hall or ceremony spot that fit your guests and your style.
  3. 3. The paperworkWe check your documents, book every appointment and prepare the translations.
  4. 4. The dayOur coordinator runs the day with the suppliers, so you only have to enjoy it.

Everything, the day only, or only the documents: you decide how much to leave to us.

When

The best time
to marry in Tuscany.

The wedding season in Tuscany runs from April to October, both included: spring brings green hills, summer long evenings, and October the colours of the harvest. For a full wedding, about a year ahead is usually enough to choose the venue and the suppliers you prefer. A few venues are booked up to three years in advance: if you have already reserved one of them yourselves, we are happy to come on board and plan everything else. From November to March, apart from the Christmas holidays, we offer off-season conditions: just ask.

Cost

How much does a wedding
in Tuscany cost?

There is no single answer, and we don't sell fixed packages. The budget depends above all on the number of guests, the venue, the dinner, the season and how many days you celebrate. An elopement for two and a three-day wedding for a hundred guests are different worlds. Tell us your plans and we prepare a proposal for your wedding.

Questions, answered

A wedding in Tuscany:
your questions.

Can foreigners legally get married in Tuscany?

Yes. You don't need to live in Italy: once the documents for your nationality are ready, you can marry at any town hall in Tuscany or at an authorised venue. Documents to marry in Italy.

What is the best area of Tuscany for a wedding?

It depends on what you love: Florence for art and elegant villas, Chianti for castles and vineyards, Siena and the Val d'Orcia for medieval towns and wide views, Lucca for historic villas close to Pisa airport. Tell us your idea and we suggest the right place.

Do we need a wedding planner in Tuscany?

It is not compulsory, but distances, documents, suppliers and transport are much easier with someone local. We can plan everything, coordinate only the day, or take care of the paperwork alone.

Is Tuscany good for small weddings and elopements?

Very. Many of our weddings are just the two of you or a handful of guests: see elopements and micro weddings.

How far ahead should we plan a wedding in Tuscany?

About a year for a full wedding with many guests; a few months can be enough for an elopement. Already booked your venue years ahead? Perfect: we join you from there. For a legally binding wedding, start the documents early.

Can you help with the paperwork only?

Yes. Many couples ask us only for the legal part, or book a 30-minute paperwork consultation first.
