The Sala Rossa, the Red Room of Palazzo Vecchio, is where the city of Florence celebrates its civil weddings: a room of red damask and gold, in the palace that has overlooked Piazza della Signoria for more than seven centuries. Many couples dream of it, and we understand why.
Can foreigners get married in the Sala Rossa?
Yes. Couples who don't live in Florence can marry there too, once the documents for their nationality are ready. For non-residents, though, the conditions are quite restrictive: a high fee, only a few weekday mornings and a short ceremony. We explain the details on a call, so you can decide with all the facts in front of you.

Beautiful alternatives near Florence
Twenty minutes from the centre the city gives way to the hills, and to town halls in medieval palaces and frescoed rooms where a civil wedding is more relaxed, with more days to choose from: Certaldo, Montespertoli, Barberino Tavarnelle, San Miniato and many more. Afterwards you can still have your photos in Florence, on the Ponte Vecchio or in Piazza della Repubblica, and celebrate wherever you like.
How we help
We check your documents, compare the Sala Rossa with the town halls in the hills, book the one that suits your date, and take you to every appointment with the interpreter. Read more about getting married in Florence, or, if you only need guidance with the paperwork, book a 30-minute consultation (€50, deducted from our fee if you then work with us).
